On today’s show, we will be featuring the Vegan Earth Day March in Los Angeles, California, USA. The Shining World Vegan Journalist Award recipient, Jane Velez-Mitchell (vegan), took the opportunity to alert everyone that the animal-people meat producers have been hiding the truth from the public about the value of plant-based diets to mitigate climate change. Ms. Velez-Mitchell puts the evidence explicitly in front of the audience during the live streaming of the 2023 Vegan Earth Day March. “The planet is on the brink of collapse!! But if we don't get active, it's not going to be saved. Let's hit the big agencies, government, media, universities, schools. We got to get the word out.”

Although it may seem reasonable for scientific research to inform policy decisions and disseminate through the educational system to reach the general public, this is often not the case. As a result, it falls upon us, the vegan community, to take on the role of driving change. As our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai has instructed: “These are the people in a position of power who can make change faster than we, ordinary people. But still, if they don’t do it, we have to do it. Whoever wants to do it, whoever can, do it. […] Change from the grassroots.”

On Earth Day, those who participated in the march are not only commemorating this occasion but also advocating for a cruelty-free food system. It is their sincere hope that our planet, which is currently facing a state of disorder, will be restored to a state of harmony in the near future.
